Valentine Gifts on a Budget

So the day is right around the corner. February 14th- Valentine’s Day! You want to make your Valentine feel special with the perfect gift, but times are tough and you can’t afford the Tiffany’s necklace she wants or the Michael Kors watch your man has been eyeing. No need to worry because the most meaningful gifts are the ones that are created with time, effort, and love. Here are a few gifts on a budget that your special one will be more than happy to receive:

1) Picture Memory Book - $10.00 - $40.00

They say pictures are worth a thousand words, and what better way to make your Valentine feel special than by compiling a picture memory book of all the special moments you’ve spent together. Depending on where you decide to print/ process your pictures you can save a lot of money. You can print your pictures on regular printer paper at home and save some money (poor quality) or you can spend some extra dough getting them developed at your local pharmacy (nice quality). To decorate your book-words, stickers, and colored paper is key! You can pick up some love and fancy special word stickers as well as any colored paper at your local arts & crafts store. Glue, tape, and scissors is necessary and most likely you’ve already got that at your home. You can use any photo album, notebook, or scrapbook to make this heartfelt gift. Use your imagination and creativity! As long as it’s from the heart, your gift will be more than appreciated- it will be cherished!

2) Heart Shaped Cookie - $12.00 - $20.00

As the saying goes, “The best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” What better way to surprise your Valentine than with a home-made heart shaped cookie. Yes, they sell heart shaped cookie pans! If you don’t want to go to the store looking for that special-shaped pan, search online for which stores carry them and it will save you tons of time. Besides the pan you will need a box of cookie baking mix (any flavor will do-chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter, etc) and all the ingredients that are listed on the box. To make it more special, you can buy frosting from the grocery store and write something special on it. Make it memorable!

3) Valentine’s Day Coupons - $5.00 – $15.00

Now if you’re really on a budget or short on time, this gift is perfect! You can make your sweet heart Valentine’s Day Coupons that are good for whatever you want them to be. You can also put an expiration date on them too, just like real coupons! You can write anything- good for 1 homemade dinner, good for 1 sunset walk on the beach, good for 1 massage, etc. Whatever you think your special Valentine will enjoy, be sure to make a coupon of it. All you need is paper and a pen (that easy). For the more creative people out there be sure to use different colored markers and fun stickers to decorate blank note cards with your creative coupon ideas. This is sure to be a hit!

Whatever you decide to give your special one, just remember that the best gifts come from the heart and it doesn’t matter the price, but the thought that counts!
